Important wellness notice MindPal is a support and reflection tool. It is not an emergency service, medical provider, or substitute for professional care. If you may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis resource where you are.

1. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how MindPal handles information when you use its chat, voice, memory, account, and cloud-sync features. It applies to the MindPal website and the services made available through it.

MindPal is designed with two modes in mind: Local Mode, where a chat can remain in your browser, and Cloud Mode, where you choose to sign in and sync certain information across devices. The information handled can differ depending on the mode you use.

2. Information we handle

CategoryExamplesWhy it is handled
Conversation contentMessages you type, AI replies, and chat contextTo generate responses and maintain the conversation you asked MindPal to have.
Voice inputAudio or speech-derived text when you use voice featuresTo provide the voice interaction you initiate.
Memory informationPreferences, goals, facts, coping tools, and other context extracted from or added to your chatsTo make future responses more useful when memory is enabled.
Account informationName, email address, account identifier, and sign-in provider informationTo authenticate you and provide cloud sync.
Settings and product signalsLanguage, appearance, selected mode, and usage settingsTo apply the experience you choose and operate the service.
Safety-related contextInformation shared in a conversation that may indicate an urgent safety concernTo apply MindPal’s safety response behavior in that conversation.

3. How we use information

MindPal uses information to operate, secure, personalize, and improve the service. This includes generating AI responses, presenting relevant chat context, applying the language and response preferences you choose, maintaining optional memory, authenticating cloud users, synchronizing data you ask to sync, and responding to potential safety concerns.

MindPal does not sell personal information. We do not use your private conversation content to advertise to you.

4. Local and cloud storage

Local Mode

When you use MindPal without a cloud account, current chat state and selected preferences may be stored in your browser’s local storage. In this mode, MindPal does not create a cloud chat record for that local session. Clearing browser storage or using browser privacy controls can remove locally stored data.

Cloud Mode

When you sign in and enable cloud use, MindPal stores the information needed to sync your current chat history, memory, profile, and selected settings across devices. MindPal uses Firebase authentication for supported sign-in methods and cloud storage services for synchronized data. Your browser may also keep a local cache to make the experience responsive.

Memory is separate from chat history

MindPal treats durable memory separately from raw conversation history. A memory item can be a concise fact, preference, or pattern rather than a full chat transcript. Memory is used only to provide continuity in MindPal; you can review and manage it from the product’s memory controls.

5. Your choices and controls

You control whether to use a cloud account. Within MindPal, available controls include reviewing and editing profile information, managing memory entries, clearing chats and memory, signing out, and requesting account deletion through the Account settings.

  • Manage memory: You can review, edit, pin, delete, or clear memory entries in the product.
  • Manage chats: You can clear chat history through the available data controls.
  • Delete your account: The Account area includes an account deletion flow intended to remove the cloud identity and synced data after confirmation.
  • Use Local Mode: You may use MindPal without signing in when that mode is available.

6. When information is shared

MindPal shares information only as needed to provide the service, comply with law, protect users and the service, or support a business transfer where legally permitted. Service providers may process information on MindPal’s behalf to provide authentication, hosting, storage, security, and AI functionality. They are permitted to use the information only to provide the relevant service to MindPal.

MindPal may disclose information where required by applicable law or where necessary to protect the safety, rights, and security of users, MindPal, or the public. We do not publish your private chats or memories for other users to view.

7. Security and retention

MindPal uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password where you create an email-and-password account and protect access to your devices.

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain security. Data you delete may remain in limited backup or security systems for a short period before it is removed through ordinary retention processes.

8. Children

MindPal is not intended for children under the minimum age required to consent to online services in their country. Do not use MindPal if you are below that age without a parent or legal guardian’s involvement where required by law.

9. Changes to this policy and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as MindPal evolves or as legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the service.

For a privacy question or request, use the support or contact channel provided within the MindPal service. If MindPal publishes a dedicated privacy contact address, it will be listed here.
